Home Bird (and dinner at Giraffe!)
Last night I was lucky enough to go and see the wonderful Sarah Millican at the Brighton Dome. I received the tickets as a Christmas present from my amazing Mum and it was lovely to have something to look forward to mid-year. Christmas in April!
The other reason it was so nice is because it was a date day/night for myself and Mr Matt and we always really enjoy the quality time we spend together. We went into town a little early, had a little mooch in some shops (new topshop items, to be blogged later!) and then made our way to Giraffe which is about a minute away from the venue.
They were so lovely and relaxed in there, they didn't mind that we sat and chatted for an hour over coffees before asking for a food menu and the staff were just all so lovely - honestly! I've never been in before but we mulled over the menu a little before deciding upon the Chicken Quesadilla, Sweet Potato Fries and a House Salad, all to share. The food was delicious, the portion size was great for sharing and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We shared a Mango sorbet and fresh fruit salad for dessert and had more coffees and some Lemonade and after a very relaxing 2 and half hours we tootled off to the venue to see Sarah!

Great Seats |
We had great seats in the stalls and our view of the stage was unobstructed which was brilliant. Highlights of the show for me include 'Claggy' (watch it on DVD when it come out, Ladies - you will die laughing!) and the part where Sarah said she always gets the urge to poo when she speaks to her 'mam' on the phone. This really made me laugh because whenever my Mum visits me, she always needs to use the loo in my house! I loved the house viewing comments, '..we have underfloor heating, throughout. That doesn't impress me love, I've got slippers!' add into that the comments and jokes about living with her man (now Husband, congrats Sarah!) and it was a very relateable show that had me and the Mr in stitches. This morning my ribs still hurt from all the laughter!
At the end of the show we were given the choice between 2 free badges, I picked 'Home Bird' because, as Sarah said, we are the women who couldn't wait to get home and put the slippers on and take the bra off!
I chose a 'Home Bird' badge (other option was 'Dirty Stop Out') |
Should you get the opportunity to see her live you should defiantly go! She really is brilliant. If you can't she has 2 fab DVD's out and hopefully Home Bird will have a DVD release too!
All in all a really great 'Date' so thank you to my Mum for the tickets, The lovely staff at Giraffe Brighton, Matt for treating me to dinner out and the goodie bag and, obviously, to Sarah for a great show!
